The Glacial Lakes Region offers incredible fishing opportunities year-round, with each season bringing unique conditions and target species. Here’s what to expect throughout the year:

Winter (December – March)
Ice fishing is in full swing, with anglers targeting walleye, perch, and northern pike through thick ice. Heated SnoBear vehicles provide comfort, allowing for extended fishing sessions. Live bait like minnows and jigging spoons work best.
Spring (April – June)
As ice melts, fish become more active. Walleye and northern pike spawn in shallow waters, making them easier to catch. Jigs, crankbaits, and live bait are effective. Water temperatures rise, and panfish like crappie and bluegill start biting.
Summer (July – September)
This is peak open-water fishing season. Walleye, bass, and northern pike are abundant in deeper waters. Boat fishing with trolling techniques, live bait rigs, and artificial lures yield great results. Early mornings and late evenings offer the best bites.
Fall (October – November)
Cooler temperatures trigger aggressive feeding. Walleye and perch school up in predictable areas, making them easier to locate. Slow trolling and jigging work best as fish prepare for winter.
